In less than a minute, the patented* SAFETYSHIELD™ Hot Stick Barrier can be mounted on a 1-1/4" or 11/2"- diameter live line tool. That's all it takes to add up to a 24"-diameter protective screen between a lineman and a potential electrical hazard.
Used by major electric utilities, co-operatives, contractors and industrical customers in the U.S. and abroad, it fits on clampsticks, hooksticks, and elbow-puller tools. SAFETYSHIELD™ Hot Stick Barrier should be mounted on the hot stick nearest the point where an electrical arc flashback may occur. It is made of two flame-retardant transparent polycarbonate protective shields affixed with a nylon fastener to a nylon 33% glass-filled clamp.
Tested per ASTM Standard F2522-05: Test Method for Determining the Protective Performance of a Shield Attached on Live Line Tools or on Racking Rods for Electrical Arc.
