  • Basically maintenance-free, each Chance hoist comes with an illustrated Operating Manual, including a complete parts list. Normal maintenance calls for only routine inspection. Common pliers and a screwdriver are the only tools needed to service Chance hoists and a single spare parts kit contains minor replacement items common to all types and ratings.

  • Proof-tested and factory-operated at 150% of capacity rating, every Chance hoist employs a high-strength mechanism. The simple yet extremely sturdy engineered design ensures dependable service proved by 40 years of field experience and laboratory tests.

  • Forged-steel load hooks at both ends swivel 360° for easy attachment and to help maintain axial alignment in use. For easy hook-up, chain or strap releases to freewheel only under no-load conditions. Under load, the hoist controls automatically lock. All hooks are fitted with spring-loaded gate latches.

Operation and Construction

Experienced users prefer Chance lever hoists for longterm dependable performance. Easy and fast to operate, lightweight for simple handling but rugged for reliable duty, Chance hoists deliver features with added value for operator productivity.

  • Quick take-up speed . . . or slower rate . . . to serve the job at hand. Adjust simply as a function of the operator's stroke on the handle. Using full travel of the handle rapidly shortens long-reach lifting and lowering operations . . . or, for more close-tolerance situations, extra accuracy can be maintained using partial strokes on the handle.
  • Convenient for even cramped-quarters work, the ratchet handle operates from either side of the hoist. This permits the option of either a push or pull stroke to best suit worksite conditions and user preferences.
