You know what the job requires when it comes to choosing underground enclosures. The Tiers of the ANSI Standard for Underground Enclosure Integrity (ANSI/ SCTE 77 2007) makes specifying easy by helping remove guesswork. Tiers help match appropriate load-rated enclosures to anticipated vehicle loads.
Use the ANSI Tiers to know what enclosures you need based upon various load exposures. From light duty Tier 5 sidewalk enclosure applications to heavy duty Tiers 15 and the new Tier 22 for non-deliberate vehicular traffic, the Tiers work for you to protect the public and your system.
| Tier | Design Load | Test Load |
|---|---|---|
| 5 | 5,000 lb. | 7,500 |
| 15 | 15,000 lb. | 22,500 |
| 22 | 22,500 lb. | 33,750 |
Our "PG" enclosures are Tier 15 rated and give the flexibility to change to higher Tier rated covers if the expected load exposures increase after installation. You can replace the lower rated Tier 8 or 15 cover with a Tier 15 or 22 without having to dig and remove the entire enclosure.
