Construction and operation
Special design features make this hoist ideal for operation by an insulated hotstick for electric-utility maintenance and construction. In addition to rings on the hook latches and handle end for hotstick handling, it has loop-style fittings for taking up strap, shifting directions and releasing ratchet.
Of course, the hoist also may be operated by hand for use in rubber-glove operations as well.
Convertible ratings
To adapt immediately to varying field needs, rigging the hoist for 3/4-tom capacity adds 3 feet of lift-distance capability, as listed in the specifications below.
To rig the hoist for its 11/2-ton rating, keep the load-hook sheave mounted midway on the strap when it is becketed (i.e., doubled, with the end of the strap secured to the hoist frame). To convert to the lower rating, simply secure the load hook sheave through the loop in the strap free end.

Left, rigged for 11/2-ton rating. Right, rigged for 3/4-ton rating. To change rigging, simply pull key form load-hook sheave. Longer reach when rigged for lower rating gives 7-foot lift distance using load-hook sheave secured at strap end.
