Length of Course: Three days (not including travel time); seating is limited.
This course is designed for Distributors who are new to the electric utility business or else new to HPS products and services. The Centralia, Missouri, location offers a unique opportunity to meet HPS Customer Service staff, as well as see where products are designed, tested, manufactured, and shipped.
Participants will meet with HPS Customer Service as well as have a basic overview of products manufactured for Distribution, Substation, and Transmission electrical systems. HPS product lines will be used as examples wherever possible. Classroom presentations will be augmented with tours through HPS Customer Service, actual production facilities, HPS Distribution Center, and the Engineering Research Lab.
Length of Course: Three days (not including travel time); seating is limited.
This course is designed for those who have experience with, and a solid understanding of, utility products or else have completed DT151. In-depth utility product presentations in the classroom will be augmented with factory tours. Weather permitting, we will also use an outdoor "Hands-On" utility products training course, simulating various (non-energized) overhead and underground utility lines. Depending on the time of year and location, you may experience sunshine, misting rain, light snow, blowing winds, or hot and humid conditions. Participants must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and perform various supervised activities. A medical waiver may be required before attending the training to cover the "Hands-On" portion. Safety is a priority with HPS. At the discretion of HPS, we will require the use of hard hats, safety glasses, and other safety products as deemed prudent.
